Dreams and Nightmares is one of the oldest magazines of science fiction and fantasy poetry still extant. At the time of writing, issue 79 is going to press. First published in January of 1986, DN made the Stoker preliminary ballot in the alternative forms category, was awarded a merit grant by Professional Book Center, and has first published numerous Rhysling nominees (including a couple of winners). DN is a digest-sized magazine with a color card-stock cover. Recent issues contain poetry by Ruth Berman, Bruce Boston, Deborah P. Kolodji, W. Gregory Stewart, and many more. Editor David Kopaska-Merkel is the recipient of a Rhysling award (shared with Kendall Evans), numerous Rhysling nominations, and other writing awards. His work has recently appeared in Asimov's science fiction magazine, Strange Horizons, and at www.dailycabal.com.
